Program DescriptionFirst Do No Harm! New Inner Ethicist Challenges is designed to help mental health professionals and other caregivers understand the personal and work-related aspects of ethical processing. Step-by-step procedures to assist caregivers in preventing ethical traps – including heightened awareness of subtle downgrading of professional independent thinking and maintaining priority of client’s best interest.This workshop is fast-paced, energetic and stimulating. Content: Original Intention of Ethics; Ethics as Spiritual Adventure, Difference Between Ethics and Rules; Main Cause of Ethical Dilemmas; Legal Action and How to Avoid; Countertransference as Landmine for Therapist; Finding Your Inner Ethicist; Role Play; Ethics as a Way of Life.

Learning Objectives: Distinguish between legal and ethical issues in mental health practice. Increase professionals’ understanding of themselves as ethical beings; spiritual and mindful aspects as basis of ethics. How to avoid legal action. Increase understanding of self concerning transference, countertransference, “trigger” issues such as touch, medication, children. How to find and use one’s “Inner Ethicist.” Increase awareness of ethical obligations, practice ethical reasoning and actively reflect and practice ethically assisting clients with issues such as “true” informed consent. Practice utilizing a flowchart strategy to improve ethical decision-making (make choices more congruent with one’s ethics) on a practical, moment-to-moment basis and keep clearer boundaries. Share dilemmas and resources. When to get help.

Pam Chubbuck, PhD, LICSW, LPC, teaches and supervises postgraduate psychotherapists internationally. She has over 30 years of experience presenting CEU workshops for professional caregivers. Pam is the Director of Vitally Alive Core Energetics Institute South and the past director of The School of Bio-Energy and Spiritual Healing in Mexico City and Atlanta. Pam is certified in: Core Energetics, Bioenergetic Analysis, Bio-Energy Healing, and is an Embodied Couples Mentor. Pam is a published author and a grandmother. She conducts a private holistic psychotherapy practice in the Atlanta area, where she specializes in working with and supervising therapists and other caregivers. Pam has served on Ethics committees for 25 years. Pam’s Ethics CEU classes are one of the most often requested by past participants.

Workshop/Events Cancellation/Refund Policy: Written cancellation received more than 30 days prior to workshop or event will receive full refund less $10 administrative fee. Written cancellation received 30 days or less receives credit toward another VItally Alive workshop, event or session within one year; in case of personal emergency, refund minus $10 admin fee.
